Beautiful People – August Edition

I am so good at blogging guys. My talent in blogging is so amazing that I forget to blog for a month. Ha!

This month ( πŸ˜‰ ) Beautiful People is on the appearance of your character. Yay! I don’t really have a hard time come up with what I want my character to look like, in fact they usually decided all of that on their own. Describing their appearance, however, can be challenging.

Alrighty! On to the questions. πŸ™‚

1.Give a brief overview of their looks. (Include a photo if you want!)

I was going to try and describe her, but I failed before I had even finished a complete sentence. πŸ˜› So I am just going to included to pictures, and you can morph just mentally morph those together.

So I thought I had two pictures. Either my pinterest wouldn’t load or I really only had one. :-\ So here are the differences. Her hair comes down to maybe an inch above her shoulder blade, it is also a darker color. So a light brown with lots of blonde highlights. This would be her natural hair color not dyed. Her skin is also a fractions darker. No makeup. Doesn’t really have any, or time to where it. Longer neck. Layers not so noticeable.

2.Share a snippet that involves description of their appearance.

I don’t think I have a description of their appearance… I shall look though.

So, I was right, I don’t have any description of Breanne. I probably should work on that, huh? But when looking for her description that I didn’t have I found this lovely little bit. πŸ˜›

‘I looked from one woman to the next hoping that they had known that I was in here. My smiled that had been frozen on my face, was slowly melting. Metaphorically speaking of course. Though had it been melting I am sure I would have been able to hear it dripping on the floor. In fact I imagined that in this moment I could have heard a mouse singing a lullaby to its babies.Β  Unfortunately this was not the case, and no sooner had I began to think of this than the older woman rushed towards me, speaking as she did.’

This book is so much fun to write! I don’t know how people can’t love first person. πŸ˜›

3.What is the first thing people might notice about them?

Hmm, good question… I am thinking. I think it really depends on how you met her. πŸ˜› I mean what are you going to first notice about her if she had just picked herself out of a mud puddle verses walking into the village where she lives and seeing her play with the children.

4.What are their unique features? (Ex: freckles, big ears, birthmark, scars, etc.)

Breanne has a scar on her chin from where her grandfather tried to teach her how to carve. As some of you know, or maybe none of you know. When you are whittling youΒ  push the knife away from you, because if you are pulling it towards you and it slips, well, I think you can imagine what would happen. Lets just say that her grandfather left out this little fact…

5.How tall are they? What is their build (Ex: stocky, slender, petite, etc.)

Breanne is 5’4″, she is slender.

6.What is their posture like? How do they usually carry themselves?

Breanne carries herself in a way that someone happy with who they are and their life would. She doesn’t slouch but she doesn’t stand up completely straight either. Her shoulder slightly roll forward in a way that has Felicia always telling her to stand up straight. So it is noticeable, if you take the time to notice.

7.Your character has been seen on a β€œlazy day” (free from usual routine/expectations): what are they wearing and how do they look?

Breanne would be wearing a lose fitting linen dress and no shoes. Her hair would be either left down or pulled back into a lose braid. If however she was back in our world, if she was on earth, than she would probably be wearing a pair of gym shorts and a t-shirt. Her hair would probably stay the same.

8.Do they wear glasses, accessories, or jewelry on a regular basis? Do they have any article of clothing or accessory that could be considered their trademark?

Breanne carried around a small leather messenger bag. It was one of the only things that carried over from Earth to where she is at, that was ‘useful’. She has a small locket, that has nothing in it, but doesn’t really wear any other jewelry unless she is going somewhere special.

9.Have they ever been bullied or shamed because of their looks? Explain!

No. Breanne was sort of homeschooled. She lived with her grandparents in one of those areas (I’m not sure if this is determined by state or school, I’ll have to ask my mom) where you can go to school for either certain classes, or for certain days, and the rest is homeschooled.

10.Are they happy with how they look? If they could change anything about their appearance, what would it be?

Breanne is happy with how she looks. She wouldn’t changing anything about herself other than to be taller. Anyway to care about how she looked would mean she would actually have to take the time to look at herself in the mirror. Breanne is always hurrying from place to place, and is to much in a hurry to do more than glance at her reflection in a window.

Well, there you have it. Be sure to check our Paper Fury’s blog where she posts everyday about the books she reads.

Also, I am changing the name of my blog to Just Being Me. So, I am no longer going to be Mary’s Moments. πŸ™‚

  1. I love love love your new blog name! Admittedly I’m just going off this post, because I just discovered you (yay!) but it really seems to suit your style and personality. Well done for being brave enough to change, too – I quake in fear of the day when I’m no longer a teenager and have to do something about mine. And it’s not even very close . . .

Also, I like Breanne. I am intrigued by the possibility of being half-homeschooled and I want to give her Grandfather a good talking to for being so irresponsible while teaching a CHILD how to hold a KNIFE. Thanks for the great post, and I look forward to reading more of them in the future.

Thank you!! I agree it suits my blog so much better.

Hahaha! Part of me wants to write a story all about Breanne and her grandparents (those being who raised her). Of course I would probably never publish it, it would be for my entertainment only. πŸ˜›

  2. Ooo, I loved this post, Mary! It was really fun :).
